12 April, Kathmandu — Nepali folk-rock band, Nepathya, has performed a live concert in Nepal after two years.

The concert, held in Hanuman Chowk, Gokarneshwor, on Saturday, created an energetic atmosphere. The lighting and the cheering of the crowd made the performance more lively. The concert was presented by Ground of Events.

Previously, the band had held a concert at Bhrikutimandap in Poush 2079 Bikram Sambat. A few months ago, the Nepathya team returned to Nepal after performing two back-to-back concerts in Sydney, Australia.

In Saturday’s concert, lead singer Amrit Gurung was accompanied by Dhruva Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on the madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboard.

After the Gokarneshwor event, Nepathya is preparing to head to the United States next month as part of their concert tour. The band will be performing in seven different locations in its US Tour.

The band is popular for its melodious blending of folk music with the rock and pop genre. This potential has been an asset of the band to touch a wider range of audience. Most of their songs reflect contemporary Nepal.

On 3rd August 2013, the band performed at Wembley Arena, England. In front of 8000 people, Nepathya became the first Nepali band to perform at Wembley.
