Four die in tractor accident in Bajura

18 December, Kathmandu: Four people died when a tractor they were travelling by collided with another one at Khadigaad in Badimalika municipality-2 alongside Martadighatmuna road in Bajura district on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Devraj Joshi, 38, of Badimalika municipality-2, Karishma Rokaya,33, from the same ward, Chandra Dani, 35, of Badimalika municipality-1 and Hikmat Rokaya,30, of Gaumul rural municipality-6 in the district, according to the District Police Office, Bajura.

Deputy Superintendent of Police in Bajura, Kabindra Singh Bohora, shared that two tractors (SuPa Pra 01002 Ta 4105; and Lu 4 Ta 7305) moving towards Gaumul rural municipality in Martadi met with an accident when they tried to overtake each other.

While those travelling by the tractor with registration no Lu 4 Ta 7305 escaped unscathed, those four in another tractor including the driver, died on the spot, DSP Bohara said.

Each tractor was carrying four people.

The driver of the tractor with registration no SuPa Pra 01002 Ta 4105 has been absconding since the accident, police said.

A police team led by Inspector Kishore Singh Ayri has been mobilized in the accident site, and the team is currently carrying out investigation into the case.

The dead bodies would be brought to District Hospital after a while, it was shared.
