GWM Haval H6 Earns Five-Star ANCAP Safety Rating

25 March, KATHMANDU : Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) HAVAL H6 has received high scores in the rigorous Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) crash test, receiving five stars for the most recent 2020-2022 safety protocols. It is GWM’s second vehicle to obtain such a high rating, following in the footsteps of the GWM pickup POER.

HAVAL H6 earned the five-star safety rating on the back of scores of 90% for Adult Occupant Protection, 88% for Child Occupant Protection, 73% for Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 81% for Safety Assist.

According to the ANCAP, the Haval H6 received full marks for driver protection in both the side-impact and oblique-pole tests, front- and rear-seat occupant whiplash protection, and front-seat passenger protection in the frontal offset test. The H6 also received top marks for Child Occupant Protection, with the ANCAP praising the SUV’s ability to “safely accommodate a range of conventional typical child restraints.” ANCAP also commends the HAVAL H6’s Junction Assist Feature, which in the turn-across-path intersection test scenario can prevent a collision with another car.

The Haval H6’s active safety features were complimented by ANCAP, which gave it a good rating in all emergency lane keeping test situations, as well as car-to-car and car-to-cyclist autonomous emergency braking capabilities.
