Resham Chaudhary warns of consequences for giving vote of confidence to Prachanda

13 March, KATHMANDU: Resham Chaudhary, the guardian of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, has urged the MPs of the party not to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

He reminded that failure to provide confidence could result in disciplinary action against members not adhering to the decision of the Central Committee.

The leader of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Ranjita Shrestha, has directed party MPs to attend today’s parliamentary meeting and to instruct Prachanda to vote of confidence, while Resham is in favor of not giving confidence.

Resham also mentioned that he couldn’t explain to his wife through social media. “Those who refuse to follow the decisions of the central committee must be held accountable and suffer consequences,” Resham said. “This concerns everyone. The decisions of the central committee were made by me. This is a misconception. I could not say before, but now the central committee has become independent and made decisions. Now, every decision must be made independently like this.”

He expressed his understanding of the sorrow felt by thousands of people. “That’s why I apologize. But I am a soldier of the identity movement. I am never one to accept defeat,” he wrote. “Now, I am more of a person of the people than of my own family. Not being able to explain to Ranjita is my compulsion, not defeat. It must be accepted, the sorrow sent by fate has strengthened me more than ever.”
