A number of schools reopen in Afghanistan: education ministry

KABUL, Sept. 18 (Xinhua): Afghan boys’ secondary schools, high schools and madrassas, or seminary schools, reopened on Saturday more than one month after Taliban’s takeover of the capital Kabul, the country’s Ministry of Education said.

“Boy students and male teachers of all private and government-run secondary, high schools and madrassas are asked to return to schools in all 34 Afghanistan’s provinces on Saturday,” the ministry said in a statement.

Primary schools, for boys and girls, have resumed operation a couple of weeks ago and government-run universities remain closed.
